1-2-1 Adolescent Programme

1-2-1 Adolescent Dog Training Programme

Calm, personalised support through the teenage phase

Has your once-easy puppy suddenly “forgotten” everything they knew?
Adolescence is a completely normal — but often frustrating — stage of development. Hormones, increased confidence, bigger emotions, and a changing brain can lead to pulling on the lead, poor recall, over-excitement, reactivity, and selective listening. This programme is designed to support both you and your dog through this phase with clarity, compassion, and structure.

What this programme is about

The 1-2-1 Adolescent Programme provides tailored, one-to-one training focused on your dog’s individual needs, environment, and emotional state. Rather than battling behaviours, we work on understanding why they’re happening and how to support better choices in real-life situations.

Training takes place where you actually need it — at home, on walks, and around everyday distractions — so skills don’t just work in a session, but out in the real world.

What we’ll work on

  • Recall around real-life distractions

  • Lead pulling and walk-related frustration

  • Over-arousal, excitement, and impulsive behaviour

  • Reactivity to dogs, people, or the environment

  • Focus, engagement, and calm decision-making

  • Rebuilding connection and communication

How you’ll benefit

  • Clear, realistic guidance tailored to your dog

  • Reduced frustration and overwhelm

  • Greater confidence handling adolescent behaviours

  • Improved walks, recall, and everyday manners

  • A stronger relationship built on trust, not control

How your dog benefits

  • Support that meets them emotionally, not just behaviourally

  • Training that feels safe, achievable, and rewarding

  • Better coping skills around distractions and big feelings

  • Increased confidence and calmer responses

Why 1-2-1 training?

Adolescent dogs often struggle in busy group environments, becoming over-aroused or anxious, which can make learning harder and less transferable to real life. One-to-one training allows sessions to move at your dog’s pace, focus on what actually matters to you, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Ready for calmer days ahead?

Adolescence doesn’t mean you’re failing — it means your dog needs support, structure, and understanding.
If you’d like to talk through your dog’s challenges and see whether this programme is the right fit, you’re welcome to get in touch for a no-pressure chat.

Support your dog through adolescence — and enjoy them again.
